Read this first!
Before we begin adding rooms we must first understand how Go2Hostels handles roomtypes.
Rooms in Go2Hostels are virtual roomtypes.
If your hostel has three '8 bedded dorms' you only have to create one roomtype called '8 bedded dorm'.
When you create allocation (beds) for three '8 bedded dorms' you count the total number of beds in all your '8 bedded dorms'.
3 rooms x 8 beds = 24 beds. You can decide how many of these 24 beds you want to put online.
You can put all 24 beds online or less if you want to reserve beds for walk-ins.
If a guest books 4 beds in a virtual '8 bedded dorm' you can decide to put 4 guests in one 'real' room or split them into 2 rooms.
Depending on how many beds are free in a 'real' room you can assign guests to rooms yourself in your front office.
Please make sure you understand how rooms work in Go2Hostels before creating rooms and allocation!
Creating a new room
In this example we will create a room.
Click on 'Setup Hostels >> Rooms'
Click on 'New'.
A new roomtype has been called 'New Room'.
Change the name of this room to '8 bedded dorm'.
Some hostels have Queensize beds. A Queensize bed can sleep up to 2 people.
Lets keep it simple and create a room with normal beds.
Now fill in the Base price of this room.
- Set the weekday price to €25.00
- Set the weekend price to €28.00
You can now decide if you want to use seasons prices for this room.
In our example we have already created the following seasons. (Setup Hostel->Seasons)

Maar in ons voorbeeld gaan we er vanuit dat er al seasons geconfigureerd zijn.
Configured Seasons in this example:
As you can see we already have 4 'Enabled' seasons.
- Only seasons that have valid dates can be enabled.
- The enddate of a season bust be higher (or the same) as the startdate.
Lets return to the room setup and specify a special season price for season 3.
- Only enabled seasons are shown in the room setup.
- Set the weekday price to 26,00 for season 3
- Set the weekend price to 29,00 for season 3
- You do not need to set a season price, seasons with zero prices are ignored.
Click 'Save'. You have created your first room.
